How to Let Wet Sand Through but Stop Water in Sandustry
Separate Wet Sand from Water by combining a configured material route with liquid-blocking containment instead of assuming both behave the same.
Use a liquid-blocking floor such as a normal Conveyor Belt to contain Water, and route the Wet Sand as a slushy material toward processing. A standard Filter itself does not block liquids, so it is not a waterproof wall. Configure filtering for Wet Sand only where the stream is already physically contained.
The important distinction
Wet Sand is classified as Slushy; Water is Liquid. Standard Filters can select pixel types but the current Wiki explicitly says they do not block liquid or gas. Normal Conveyor Belts do block liquids, even though liquids ignore the belt's travel direction.
